We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Data Governance / Application Inventory Analyst to play a pivotal role in our 3-month initiative, with potential extension to 5 or 6 months. In this critical position, you will drive data reconciliation, quality assurance, and standardization efforts to establish a reliable, compliant, and comprehensive business application inventory that serves as a trusted source of truth across our enterprise. - Reconcile application records from multiple sources, identifying duplicates and mismatches
- Cleanse and normalize data to standardize naming and vendor information
- Analyze gaps and document findings to improve inventory consistency
- Support classification and categorization of applications to align with standards
- Collaborate with teams to update and enrich CMDB records with ownership and vendor details
- Document processes and recommend data quality improvements for future efforts
Top 5 Required Skills:
- Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, data normalization)
- Strong data analysis and reconciliation experience
- Experience working with application inventories or IT asset data
- Familiarity with data quality principles, metadata, and taxonomy
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Top 5 Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with SQL, Alteryx, Power BI, or AI-assisted data tools
- Knowledge of CMDB platforms, preferably ServiceNow
- Understanding of enterprise application landscapes (SaaS, internal systems)
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks and lifecycle management
- Exposure to financial services or regulated environments
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Data Management, or related field
- 3+ years of professional experience in data analysis or application inventory management
Other Requirements:
- Ability to work primarily in a hybrid setting, with 1-2 days on-site per month
- Strong communication skills for documenting and collaborating effectively
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
