Security Engineer (12-Month Contract | Fully Remote)
Overview
Join an enterprise modernization initiative where security is a core enabler—not an afterthought. This Security Engineer consulting role focuses on strengthening and scaling security across a hybrid environment spanning network, cloud, endpoint, and application security. You’ll work hands-on with modern security platforms and partner closely with Infrastructure, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Application Development, and SecOps teams to advance Zero Trust maturity, automate controls, and improve overall security posture.
Required Skills
- Palo Alto Networks firewall administration (policies, NAT, threat prevention, traffic inspection)
- Prisma Access / Prisma VPN support for secure remote connectivity and Zero Trust access
- Endpoint security engineering with CrowdStrike Falcon and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (EDR/EPP)
- Network segmentation and Zero Trust security initiative implementation
- Kubernetes and DevSecOps security (container security, CI/CD pipeline security controls)
- Azure security engineering (strong emphasis): hands-on experience securing Azure environments and workloads using Azure-native security controls and best practices
Nice to Have Skills
- Prisma Cloud or other CSPM experience
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Bicep)
- Vulnerability management tooling (Tenable, Qualys, or Rapid7)
- SIEM familiarity (Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, or QRadar)
- Policy-as-code / Kubernetes security tooling (Kyverno or Open Policy Agent) and/or container security platforms (Aqua, Wiz, Sysdig)
Preferred Education and Experience
- 8+ years of experience in Information Security, Cybersecurity Engineering, or Infrastructure Security
- Strong Azure security background (highly preferred): proven experience securing production-grade Azure environments, implementing and operating Azure-native security controls, and supporting Azure cloud-first architectures
- Proven experience supporting production-grade enterprise security infrastructure in cloud-first environments
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills with a collaborative, cross-functional approach
Other Requirements
- Comfort working independently in a fully remote consulting engagement
- Security certifications are a plus (e.g., CISSP, GIAC, PCNSE, CCSP, CKS, AZ-500, AWS Security Specialty)
