Overview:
We are seeking a Senior z/OS Mainframe Network Software Systems Programmer to join our z/OS Mainframe Software Infrastructure team. In this role, you will define strategies for our z/OS Mainframe Network Software environment and support its implementation.
Responsibilities:
- Independently determine z/OS software upgrade requirements to maintain all products at current and supported levels as specified by IBM and third-party vendors.
- Coordinate and schedule major software upgrades across various Mainframe Technical support teams.
- Define resource requirements in collaboration with other managers within the Technical Services group to support software and hardware upgrades.
- Monitor CPU, Memory, and DASD trends to ensure service levels of supported software.
- Stay updated on vendor software trends and product release schedules for z/OS technology
- Manage multiple projects, develop detailed implementation plans and schedules, and prepare periodic status reports.
- Consult with management and technical staff on related mainframe software and hardware initiatives.
Requirements:
- Expertise in z/OS Mainframe VTAM, SNA, APPN & HPR, and TCP/IP.
- Proficiency in the implementation, configuration, and support of mainframe TCP/IP in a z/OS Parallel Sysplex environment.
- Experience with Connect:Direct, NetView Network Management, and communications server infrastructure program products.
