 Trade Compliance Specialist – Imports (Americas)
Location: North Charlotte Metropolitan Area (Hybrid role; on-site expectations vary)

About the Role
A leading global manufacturer is seeking a Trade Compliance Specialist – Imports (Americas) to support the delivery and execution of a standardized import compliance program across the region. This role partners closely with the regional trade compliance leadership team to ensure compliant, efficient international trade operations.
The ideal candidate has direct Americas import compliance experience, strong regulatory knowledge, and the ability to support audits, investigations, SOP development, and daily compliance activities.
Key Responsibilities
•    Support the development and execution of a regional import compliance program.
•    Assist with investigations, audits, and disclosures related to import compliance.
•    Conduct root cause analysis and help resolve compliance issues identified through audits.
•    Support and deliver trade compliance training across the Americas region.
•    Stay current on global trade regulations, company policies, audit programs, and compliance initiatives.
•    Research regulations and rulings, determine classification and valuation requirements, and communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders.
•    Provide guidance on various import compliance topics as needed.
•    Maintain adherence to company trade policies and regulatory requirements.
•    Support recordkeeping, reconciliation, and ongoing document maintenance.
•    Engage daily with compliance service providers to resolve inquiries.
•    Review and manage trade compliance transaction holds to ensure timely, compliant processing.
•    Identify opportunities for process improvements in handling compliance issues.
•    Assist with the creation and upkeep of SOPs and work instructions.
•    Monitor regulatory changes through publications, service provider communications, and government resources.
•    Partner with internal departments across multiple business units on compliance matters.
•    Perform additional duties as needed in support of the regional trade compliance program.
Qualifications
•    Bachelor’s degree required.
•    5–7 years of hands-on experience in international trade and Americas import compliance.
•    Expertise in import regulations, HS classification, valuation, import licensing, and trade documentation.
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
•    U.S. Customs Broker license strongly preferred.
•    Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.
•    Ability to travel up to 10%.
