Senior Business Systems Analyst

This opportunity is within their IT Design & Enterprise Systems team supporting financial systems operations in Richmond, VA.
Summary:
We are seeking a **Senior Business Systems Analyst – SAP Project Systems** for a contract role based in Richmond, VA. This hybrid position plays a critical role supporting SAP Financial and Project Systems modules, focusing on capital and O&M projects. Candidates must be local to Richmond and available to work 1 week onsite, 1 week remote, full-time EST hours.
Responsibilities:
• Support SAP Financial and Project Systems modules, including configuration and enhancement tasks
• Gather and document business requirements for financial systems enhancements
• Write functional specifications and execute test plans
• Provide second and third level support for SAP-related inquiries
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure business needs are met
• Conduct business process analyses and contribute to long-range system planning
• Mentor junior analysts as needed
Qualifications:
• 5+ years in a Business or Functional Analyst role
• Strong experience with SAP PS and CPM modules
• Deep understanding of finance and accounting business processes
• Proven experience writing test scripts, functional specs, and technical documentation
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree required; SAP certification in Project Systems or CPM preferred
• Previous experience in the energy or utilities sector is highly desired
