Job Title: IT Infrastructure / Network Project Manager
What is the preferred candidate location (local, non-local, remote?) and is there flexibility? Local Candidates ONLY – candidate will be required to work on site 5 days a week every other week do not submit candidates seeking fully remote
- Contractor(s) will be expected to comply with the client’s hybrid office and work-from-home policies, which generally specify alternating weeks in the office and working from home.
Will travel be required for this position? Position may require occasional travel to other office located in Glenn, Allen VA along with occasional out-of-town travel.
- If a project requires travel, it would typically be a trip once every 2-3 months. Travel expenses are reimbursable in line with the expense policy guidelines
Are any certification required:
- PMP certification – required
- Six-sigma blue or black belts – preferred
Top 3 Required Skills
- MUST have prior IT Infrastructure Project Management experience handling large capital projects
- Must have experience with waterfall / predictive methodologies
- Experience establishing and maintaining project governance plan including working with project sponsor, steering committee and stakeholders.
- Experience with process for selecting vendor through RFP, negotiating SOW and managing vendor performance.
Soft Skill Requirements:
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to lead, collaborate, or work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams
Nice to Have Skills:
- Agile is nice-to-have but not required.
High Level Project Overview:
Manage infrastructure projects ranging from $100k to $1M, covering areas such as WAN / circuit connectivity for remote facilities, data center, building renovations, security architecture, network configuration and upgrades. Projects may include outside vendors and PM manages those contracts.
Qualifications:
- Experienced managing major projects in large corporate or enterprise environments. Responsible for budgets of at least $3M and teams of at least 15 people.
- Driver, not a passenger: Demonstrated owner with accountability for project success. Not a facilitator, coordinator, or project historian.
- Must have experience with waterfall / predictive methodologies
- Accountable for managing budgets and resource plans.
- Skilled at developing project schedule and budget estimates, tracking against them and reporting progress.
- Demonstrated understanding of project risk management.
- Experienced with process for selecting vendor through RFP, negotiating SOW and managing vendor performance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills at all organization levels, including senior leadership.
- Experienced establishing and maintaining project governance plan including working with project sponsor, steering committee and stakeholders.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Project. MS Project Online and SAP user experience are beneficial.

Education: Minimum Highschool Diploma or equivalency
