Job Details:
- Provide accurate and timely financial reporting and accounting services for our IT department, requiring the application of operational, accounting and financial concepts within the time frame determined by management
- Perform monthly close duties, including general journal entries, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, and preparation of financial reporting
- Develop solutions to capture financial data for unique business transactions

Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning and Budgeting: Leading the annual IT budget process, including forecasting operational and capital expenditures, as well as cost allocations and labor capitalization rates. This involves close collaboration with IT leadership to understand their needs and translate them into financial plans.
- Cost Management and Optimization: Analyzing IT spending to identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements without compromising service delivery. This may involve vendor negotiation, reviewing contracts, and optimizing resource allocation.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Preparing regular financial reports for IT leadership and senior management, providing insights into spending trends, variances to budget, and the financial performance of IT initiatives.
- Forecasting: Partner with IT leadership to develop accurate financial forecasts for IT expenses and investments, considering factors like project timelines, technology lifecycles, and market trends.
- Strategic IT Investment Analysis: Partner with IT stakeholders to build robust business cases and ROI models for major technology investments; provide financial oversight and post-implementation reviews.
- FinOps Leadership & Cloud Governance: Lead a FinOps team to drive cloud financial accountability; collaborate with teams to optimize cloud consumption and implement cost-allocation tagging.
- Compliance and Governance: Ensuring IT financial processes and reporting comply with internal policies, accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS), and regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX).
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Acting as a key liaison between the IT department and Finance, as well as collaborating with other business units to ensure IT investments align with overall business strategy.
- Team Leadership: Managing and developing a team of financial analysts or other finance professionals supporting the IT function.
Skills, Experience and Requirements:
- A working knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures of accounting (including Journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, US GAAP)
- Ability to exercise independent judgment, work independently and meet deadlines; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Advanced computer skills in Excel and experience using OneStream, ServiceNow, and Oracle Financials a plus
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university (preferably Accounting)
- 2 – 4 years of public accounting experience (Big 4 or tier 2 firm)
- 5 – 7 years of progressive accounting or finance experience in growth companies
- Minimum three years of experience leading a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to lead a diverse organization through completion & publication of monthly Financials.
- Process improvement experience desired.
- Able to write reports/correspondence and present information and respond to questions from executives/customers.
- Must be comfortable with aggressive schedules, setting direction and priorities. Uses a high level of diplomacy.
- Ability to interact at multiple levels.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to work with financial concepts such as capital expenditures, financial reporting, annual planning, regular prepaid and accrual entries.
- Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
