Overview
As a Field Service Engineer II, you will play a crucial role in installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and training customers on sophisticated CNC fabrication equipment, including punch presses, fiber lasers, mills, lathes, and turning centers. Your mechanical expertise will help ensure the smooth operation of long-standing machines at client sites across the country. Required Skills

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical troubleshooting
  • Proficiency with hand tools and machine tools
  • Ability to adjust CNC controls (Fanuc controllers a plus) and perform basic parameter changes
  • Knowledge of electrical/electronic systems, including troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a professional approach
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and regulations
  • Effective communication skills for training and customer support

Nice to Have Skills

  • Experience with CNC programming or operation
  • Familiarity with machine tool sales or upselling parts and upgrades
  • Additional certifications in electronics, hydraulics, or mechanical systems
  • Multilingual abilities, especially in languages relevant to international travel

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Associate degree or equivalent in engineering, electronics, or a related field
  • 4-8 years of experience in machine tool maintenance, installation, or servicing, or military technical training
  • Prior experience with Fanuc CNC systems is a plus

Other Requirements

  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 85%, including potential trips to Canada and Mexico
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to drive personal vehicle as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to work in environments with loud noise, airborne particles, vibration, and varying temperatures
  • Possession of or willingness to obtain a passport for potential international assignments
