What You’ll Do
Overseeing the annual administration process for ESOP clients to ensure growth, profitability and retention in retirement services. Liaison between client management team, internal, and external advisors to facilitate communication, resolve issues by providing prompt services and meeting client expectations. Along with taking on the crucial role of training and developing our team and supporting prospects with our sales team.
What will you be doing:
- Works collaboratively with Client Service Managers to analyze client source data, interpret individual custom plan documents, prepare employee status, and plan level trust/financial reports, process complex allocation transactions, and compliance testing. Develop extensive working knowledge of various operating systems, mainframe, express, and other proprietary applications necessary to perform job
- Primary contact for a designated group of clients. Build strong relationships by maintaining regular verbal and written communication to support the client needs.
- Lead and coordinate the ESOP annual process with both internal and external partners. Documenting plan specific components to ensure accurate recordkeeping. Provide feedback for administrative best practices
- Possess advanced knowledge and expertise in a technical subject for ESOP. Provide expert advice, recommendations, and solutions to internal teams on complex issues and challenges. Serve as an IT resource for business application systems
- Promote team development through shared knowledge and information with team members in working to resolve complex situations and provide technical assistance to other internal roles on procedures and task related problems.
As the #1 recordkeeper of Employee Stock Ownership Plans, our client provides a wide range of expertise and support to our clients serving nearly 1,200 custom plans involving various levels of complexity! You will proactively assist clients in understanding requirements, plan language and provide a wide range of services and proactive consulting in a talented team environment.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of accounting or finance experience or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education with at least 3 years of ESOP experience
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Must be a subject matter expert in a technical field with the ability to anticipate and recognize unusual or complex situations.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Must have the ability to balance working independently while working in a team environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
- Must possess excellent leadership, communication, presentation, facilitation, planning and decision-making skills meet customer needs and achieve overall goals.

Work Environments
This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, or Charlotte, NC). You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
