Job Summary:
This role supports a 24/7 Wireless Network Operations Center (NOC), focused on monitoring and troubleshooting the Transport Network. The Fault Isolation & Management (FIM) Engineer is responsible for identifying and resolving transport-related issues, escalating as needed, and ensuring service is restored quickly and efficiently.

The FIM Engineer works across network functions, leads incident analysis, and provides advanced technical support to Network Surveillance teams. The role involves continuous collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to maintain high service availability and drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor Transport EMS systems and observability tools
  • Identify and assess incidents, log tickets using ServiceNow, and initiate troubleshooting
  • Coordinate with market teams through chat channels and support post-maintenance health checks
  • Lead incident analysis and resolution, ensuring detailed ticket updates and process adherence
  • Prioritize incidents based on impact and urgency
  • Escalate complex issues to engineering or vendor teams as needed
  • Manage outages, ensure SLA/KPI compliance, and resolve chronic issues
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., RF, Integration, Core, Cloud, Engineering) and fiber providers (e.g., AT&T, Zayo)
  • Maintain a high level of network availability (>99.50%) and a minimal incident backlog
  • Provide next-level and knowledge transfer support to Network Surveillance teams

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent experience)
  • 5–7 years of experience in telecom and networking
  • Strong background in NOC operations, 4G/5G troubleshooting, and transport networks
  • Deep understanding of routing protocols (eBGP, iBGP, ISIS), MPLS, L2/L3 VPNs, and the OSI model
  • Familiarity with SDH, DWDM, SON, and ACI technologies; CCNP certification is a plus
  • Experience managing incidents in shift environments
  • Effective organizational and problem-solving skills under pressure
  • Able to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced setting
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and knowledge-sharing skills
