What You Will Be Doing:

We’re seeking a Data Scientist II to join our car wash operations as an individual contributor focused on building predictive models and advanced analytics from the ground up. This role offers the opportunity to work with diverse data sources including transactional, operational, and external data to drive business decisions across marketing, pricing, and operations.
Key Responsibilities:

Model Development (60%)

  • Build predictive models from scratch for customer behavior, pricing optimization, and operational forecasting
  • Develop customer segmentation and classification models
  • Create location analysis models to optimize site performance and expansion
  • Design and implement A/B testing frameworks and attribution models
  • Deploy approximately one model every 3 weeks (target: 8-10 models in first 6 months)

Data Engineering & Infrastructure (25%)

  • Set up and maintain data pipelines
  • Integrate external data sources (weather APIs, third-party data)
  • Develop local development environments for model prototyping
  • Work with transactional, operational, and external data sources

Business Collaboration (15%)

  • Gather requirements directly from business stakeholders
  • Present findings and model results to leadership and operational teams
  • Translate business problems into analytical frameworks
  • Provide recommendations based on model insights

Required Qualifications
Technical Skills:

  • 2-3+ years of hands-on Python experience with data science libraries (pandas, scikit-learn, numpy, matplotlib/seaborn)
  • Strong SQL skills with experience in data manipulation and analysis
  • Experience with GBQ/Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses
  • Experience building machine learning models end-to-end (data prep through deployment)
  • Statistical analysis and hypothesis testing experience

Business Skills:

  • Proven ability to work directly with business stakeholders
  • Experience presenting technical findings to non-technical audiences
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Experience with A/B testing methodology and experimental design

Mindset:

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with model deployment goals
  • Willingness to learn new domain knowledge
  • Self-directed with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with marketing analytics (customer segmentation, attribution modeling)
  • Geospatial analysis experience for location-based insights
  • Experience with API integration and web scraping
  • Knowledge of MLOps practices and model deployment
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure/GCP)
  • Data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI, or similar)
  • Version control (Git) and collaborative development practices
