Position Overview

We are seeking an Accountant (Contract Role) to provide maternity leave coverage for approximately six months starting in January with approximately one full month of cross training. This role is onsite in St. Paul, MN and will support the Operations Controller with month-end close, reporting, and ad hoc financial analysis. The ideal candidate has strong experience in manufacturing accounting and thrives in a fast-paced environment.


Compensation

$26/hr


Key Responsibilities

  • Complete plant month-end reporting within 4 days of close
  • Support CAPEX process and related reconciliations
  • Analyze transaction errors and variances
  • Drive process improvement initiatives
  • Assist with new product development and productivity tracking
  • Perform cost analysis on shipments and production variances
  • Partner with Controller on journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
  • Participate in operational excellence initiatives
  • Handle ad hoc projects as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
  • 2–4 years of accounting/finance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong month-end close experience (within 4 days)
  • Advanced Excel skills; ERP experience (Oracle R12 preferred)
  • Knowledge of GAAP principles and manufacturing processes
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail
