Job Purpose
Provide support and expertise on technical plan design and compliance-related questions for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure timely resolution of issues to support the delivery of consulting services aligned with retirement plan goals. Promote the overall value and capabilities of the consulting team.
Essential Functions

Provide technical analysis and consulting on plan design, compliance, and administration issues to help deliver high-quality service. | 30% |
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal service teams to understand client needs and help deliver tailored, value-added solutions. Leverage technology to enhance communication. | 15% |
Collect and evaluate relevant information to develop effective plan strategies, anticipating impacts on retirement programs and budgets. | 15% |
Stay current on industry trends, technical rules, and regulatory changes to inform and improve consulting strategies. | 10% |
Maintain a broad understanding of available products and services to support holistic solutions. Identify opportunities to offer additional services where appropriate. | 5% |
Mentor and support development of team members; may supervise staff. | 5% |
Represent the organization in the industry by speaking at events, contributing to publications, and participating in professional associations. | 5% |
Embrace evolving methods and strategies to enhance the delivery of consulting services. | 5% |
Support business development efforts by participating in sales presentations and proposal responses, primarily for small to mid-sized clients. | 5% |
Perform other related duties and special projects as needed. | 5% |
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 5–8 years of experience in retirement, ERISA, or employee benefits
- Deep understanding of qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, statutory requirements, and regulatory guidelines
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to understand organizational decision-making structures to design effective retirement solutions
- Active listener with a consultative approach to client needs
- Relevant professional certifications preferred
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively
- Occasional travel required (less than 20%)
- Expected to maintain high ethical standards and comply with all applicable regulations and company policies
