Job Purpose
Build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners to support technical plan design and compliance-related inquiries. Address issues promptly to support delivery of consulting services that align with retirement plan goals. Promote the value and capabilities of the ESOP consulting group.
Essential Functions

Collect and evaluate relevant data to develop client or prospect strategies. Anticipate how proposed plan designs may impact retirement plans and financial outcomes. | 25% |
Proactively identify and develop opportunities to provide value-added consulting services that help position the organization as a trusted advisor. | 15% |
Contribute to new business efforts by supporting the proposal process and participating in sales presentations. May involve presenting to large plan sponsors. | 10% |
Foster strong working relationships with internal teams to stay aligned with client needs and enhance the delivery of consulting services. | 10% |
Maintain a high level of technical expertise and industry knowledge. Lead or support projects that provide measurable value to clients. Leverage new technologies to improve communication and delivery. | 10% |
Provide technical analysis and consulting support on plan design, compliance, and administrative issues. Present complex topics clearly and effectively. | 10% |
Maintain a solid understanding of available products and services to deliver comprehensive retirement solutions. Identify opportunities for cross-service offerings when appropriate. | 5% |
Mentor and support the development of consulting staff. Identify training needs and create learning opportunities. May supervise team members. | 5% |
Engage with the industry through speaking engagements, writing, and participation in professional associations to build expertise and visibility. | 5% |
Perform additional duties and special projects as needed. | 5% |
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 9–12 years of experience in retirement plans, ERISA, or employee benefits
- ESOP experience preferred
- Strong technical knowledge of qualified and non-qualified plans, as well as current regulations
- Ability to think strategically and offer creative, customized solutions
- Effective communicator with strong listening, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Skilled in understanding and navigating organizational structures and decision-making processes
- Proactive approach with the ability to anticipate client needs and respond to industry developments
- Capable of working in fast-paced and ambiguous environments
- Relevant industry certifications/designations preferred
- Travel required (less than 30%)
