Director of Financial Planning & Analysis

Our client’s Financial Planning & Analysis team is seeking an FP&A Director who will develop and lead a high-performing finance program supporting our businesses growth and go-to-market strategies. This role will be responsible for leading an existing team, expanding partnerships with internal leaders, and guiding the financial planning processes for a core growth segment within the company. Responsibilities will include 3-year planning, annual budgeting, monthly close and forecasting, management reporting and board reporting. This role will report directly to the VP, FP&A, collaborating closely with business partners to grow and scale the company. 

What you’ll do

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the Company, the existing 3-year plan, and key metrics. Synthesize trends and drivers of change within the financial results. Become a subject matter expert in your domain
  • Build partnerships with key business operators and senior management. Understand business goals, collaborate on strategic decision making, support growth execution, develop and maintain business processes
  • Proactively manage your P&L. Expand on existing processes to develop a best-in-class forecasting, reporting, and business support program
  • Lead a team of financial analysts. Organize and allocate workloads, create training & growth opportunities, foster a culture of performance
  • Drive monthly and quarterly financial processes, including analysis of budget vs. actual close results, forecast updates, standard financial and operational reporting, production of exec presentations and board reporting
  • Maintain and improve predictability of financial results through enhancements of internal processes and partnership across the organization
  • Implement improvements & automation to streamline current processes. Proactively identify areas of opportunity and drive execution 

What we’re looking for

  • 10+ years of work experience in FP&A, Investor Relations, investment banking, consulting, or private equity
  • Excellent communication skills: ability to distill complex analyses into structured outputs and present to all levels of management
  • Driven personality, intellectually curios, problem-solver, and focus on continuous improvement
  • Extensive experience managing and forecasting Income Statements
  • Experience managing software & technology business model metrics including CAC, LTV, & ARR for subscription and usage lines of business
  • Experience with 3-statement modeling
  • Familiarity with ASC 606 accounting
  • Effective project management skills; highly organized, independent, and self-motivated
  • Experience working with financial systems (Adaptive experience a plus)
