What You Will Be Doing

  • Install, commission, and troubleshoot building automation systems and unit controllers

  • Report to the Building Automation Team Leader

  • Serve as a technical resource to junior technicians

  • Ensure control systems operate efficiently and support preventative maintenance

  • Handle point-to-point operation and commissioning

  • Integrate various control systems (Trane, JCI, Siemens, Niagara, etc.)

  • Collaborate with subcontractors and internal teams on HVAC automation projects

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with HVAC Controls, database integrations, and subsystem work

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems (Boilers, Chillers, RTUs, AHUs, VAVs) and automation strategies

  • Experience configuring and commissioning systems per design specs

  • Understanding of communication protocols: BACnet, Modbus, and Lon

  • Ability to read and troubleshoot wiring diagrams and control circuitry

  • Strong I/O and network troubleshooting skills

  • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Niagara certification with 5+ years of hands-on experience

  • Additional controls certifications (Trane, JCI, Carrier, Siemens)

  • Familiarity with CAD software and PC/network configuration

  • Ability to train and mentor junior technicians

  • Experience integrating third-party devices into Niagara

  • Knowledge of alarm setup, trends, and operator workstation configuration

  • Background in safety standards and field environment adherence
