What You Will Be Doing

Install, commission, and troubleshoot building automation systems and unit controllers

Report to the Building Automation Team Leader

Serve as a technical resource to junior technicians
-
Ensure control systems operate efficiently and support preventative maintenance
-
Handle point-to-point operation and commissioning
-
Integrate various control systems (Trane, JCI, Siemens, Niagara, etc.)

Collaborate with subcontractors and internal teams on HVAC automation projects
Basic Qualifications
-
5+ years of experience with HVAC Controls, database integrations, and subsystem work
-
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems (Boilers, Chillers, RTUs, AHUs, VAVs) and automation strategies
-
Experience configuring and commissioning systems per design specs
-
Understanding of communication protocols: BACnet, Modbus, and Lon
-
Ability to read and troubleshoot wiring diagrams and control circuitry
-
Strong I/O and network troubleshooting skills
-
Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
-
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
-
Niagara certification with 5+ years of hands-on experience
-
Additional controls certifications (Trane, JCI, Carrier, Siemens)

Familiarity with CAD software and PC/network configuration
-
Ability to train and mentor junior technicians
-
Experience integrating third-party devices into Niagara
-
Knowledge of alarm setup, trends, and operator workstation configuration
-
Background in safety standards and field environment adherence
