Network Engineer
Overview
Our client, a leading organization in the financial services industry, is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join their Infrastructure and Operations team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment supporting multi-site networks, both on-premises and cloud-based. The ideal candidate will bring strong networking fundamentals, troubleshooting expertise, and experience with modern network technologies to help optimize and secure our client’s infrastructure. Required Skills
- Extensive experience managing and troubleshooting enterprise networks, including routing, switching, VLANs, subnetting, DHCP/DNS, and wireless
- Hands-on Cisco configuration and management of routers, switches, and access points, including CLI, IOS upgrades, and configuration templates
- Deployment and pre-staging of SD-WAN devices such as Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN (Viptela) or Meraki, with working knowledge of MPLS, DIA, and E-Line/Waves circuits
- Hardware pre-staging, asset tracking, and inventory management of network equipment
- Strong troubleshooting skills including packet capture analysis and root cause identification
- Ability to follow change control processes and coordinate updates with project teams
- Customer service-oriented with a focus on providing high-quality support to branch or advisor offices
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Nexus switches and exposure to Nexus data center environments
- Knowledge of cloud networking, including managing AWS VPCs and Azure Tenants, with experience in cloud connectivity via providers like Equinix or Digital Reality
- Scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, JSON, YAML, or similar
- Familiarity with automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible
- Understanding of load balancers, service mesh technology, firewall rule management, and network security practices
- Experience working in Linux, Windows, VMWare environments, and agile/scrum methodologies
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree, technical certificate, or equivalent work experience
- Prior experience supporting multi-site enterprise networks, preferably in regulated industries such as financial services, banking, or insurance
- Relevant certifications like CCNA or CCNP are a plus
- Proven ability to work independently and proactively in a high-volume environment
Other Requirements
- Must be fully onsite, working five days a week in Fort Mill, SC—no remote options
- Availability for occasional nights, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexible scheduling
- Valid work authorization for the United States
