Position Overview:
The Workday Integration Consultant is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing solutions that seamlessly connect the Workday platform with internal and external business systems. This role ensures efficient data flow across HR, Finance, and other enterprise functions. The ideal candidate will bring strong Workday technical expertise, integration experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Requirements Gathering
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand functional requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications.
- Conduct impact analysis to assess system dependencies and integration requirements.
Design & Development
- Design, develop, and maintain integrations using Workday tools such as Workday Studio, EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder), Core Connectors, and Workday APIs (REST/SOAP).
- Utilize XML, XSLT, JSON, and related technologies to support data transformations.
- Ensure integration designs align with Workday’s security and data governance standards.
Testing & Implementation
- Execute unit and end-to-end testing for integrations, ensuring performance and accuracy.
- Deploy solutions to production environments following established change management practices.
- Partner with QA teams and business users to validate integrations during testing cycles.
Troubleshooting & Support
- Monitor and resolve integration issues through Workday’s Integration Event Framework.
- Provide post-production support, identifying root causes and implementing permanent solutions.
Collaboration
- Work closely with functional leads, IT teams, and third-party vendors to coordinate integration efforts and ensure timely project delivery.
- Participate in regular status meetings and provide technical expertise on Workday-related projects.
Documentation & Best Practices
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation for all integration designs, workflows, and technical configurations.
- Contribute to establishing Workday integration best practices and reusable components.
Training & Knowledge Transfer
- Provide training and handover to internal teams to ensure ongoing support capability after go-live.
- Mentor junior consultants or client resources on Workday integration principles and tools.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as a Workday Integration Consultant or similar role.
- Proficiency in Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, and Workday Web Services (SOAP, REST).
- Strong technical skills in XML, XSLT, JSON, XPath, and data transformation frameworks.
- Experience integrating Workday with HRIS, payroll, finance, and third-party applications.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with Workday Report Writer, Calculated Fields, and Workday Security is a plus.
- Workday certification(s) preferred but not required.
