Company:
Our Client, one of the largest consumer product companies in the US, is looking for a Business Analyst – Vertex o join their team. This is a hybrid role based in Charlotte, NC.

About the Role

If you love living in that space between tax, business, and tech — this role is for you.
We’re looking for a Business Analyst who knows their way around Vertex and can help keep our tax engine running smoothly as we grow and evolve.

You’ll be part of a team that supports ongoing maintenance, testing, and enhancements for Vertex — the software that powers our sales and use tax processes. Expect to collaborate across tax, accounting, and IT, turning complex business needs into clean, actionable solutions that make an impact.

And the best part? You’ll report to a laid-back, supportive Product Manager who believes in giving guidance when needed — not micromanagement. The environment is calm, flexible, and focused on delivering great results without unnecessary stress.

What You’ll Do

  • Own day-to-day operations and maintenance of our Vertex tax engine.

  • Review business scenarios and document how they tie into Vertex setups and transactions.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to capture and translate business requirements into system updates.

  • Test and validate Vertex configurations — ensuring accurate tax mapping within our SAP (or other ERP) systems.

  • Play a key role in our ERP migration from SAP ECC to S/4HANA, where Vertex will be used even more extensively.

  • Work closely with our Vertex Product Owner and Product Manager to enhance integrations and user experience.

  • Execute and document testing — no deep tax research required, but you’ll use your tax tech savvy to make things click.

What You Bring

  • 2–3+ years of hands-on experience with Vertex (Sales & Use Tax, O Series, or similar).

  • Background in business, accounting, or tax technology — with solid understanding of U.S. sales tax concepts.

  • Experience with SAP or another large ERP that integrates with a tax engine.

  • A talent for bridging the gap between finance, tax, and IT — you “speak” all three languages.

  • Strong documentation, testing, and analytical skills — you love connecting dots and tightening processes.

Who You Are

  • You’re curious, collaborative, and comfortable switching between business talk and system logic.

  • You’re not a tax preparer and not a developer — you’re the translator who makes both sides click.

  • You stay cool under pressure, value flexibility, and like working with people who trust you to get the job done.

  • You’re looking for a role where you can grow your career in tax technology and be part of a major ERP transformation journey.

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Experience with Vertex implementations or upgrades, especially within S/4HANA.

  • Exposure to tax automation or process improvement projects.

Why You’ll Love It Here
You’ll join a supportive team that values balance, curiosity, and genuine collaboration. This is a space where your expertise in Vertex and ERP systems will directly shape how we evolve our tax technology footprint.
