Key Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- PEO Experience Required: Extensive experience working with Professional Employer Organizations is mandatory
- Proven track record as a CFO or senior finance executive
- Strong background in financial cleanup and organizational assessment projects
- Experience with rapid assessment and implementation methodologies
Duration & Schedule
- Project Duration: 30-60 days initial engagement
- Time Commitment: 8-16 hours per week initially (expected to decrease after 2 months)
- Location: Fully remote position
- Travel: Occasional visits to Boston may be required (1-2 trips expected)
Scope of Work
Phase 1: Assessment & Cleanup (First 30-60 days)
- Conduct comprehensive financial assessment of current state
- Clean up and reconcile existing financial records
- Catch up on outstanding financial processes and reporting
- Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and compliance issues
- Document current financial systems and processes
Phase 2: Strategic Planning
- Develop clear roadmap from current state to desired future state
- Recommend improvements to financial processes and controls
- Establish best practices for ongoing PEO financial management
- Create actionable implementation plan for long-term success
Required Experience
- PEO Financial Management: Deep understanding of PEO financial structures, co-employment models, and compliance requirements
- Multi-Client Environments: Experience managing finances across multiple client relationships
- Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of employment law, tax compliance, and workers’ compensation in PEO contexts
- Financial Systems: Proficiency with accounting software and financial reporting systems commonly used in PEO environments
